Typical landscape of the Val d'Orcia and here is another icon of the Val d’Orcia. If you travel along the Via Cassia between San Quirico d’Orcia and Torrenieri you will not resist the temptation to stop to photograph the characteristic group of cypress trees on a hill overlooking the road.
The Val d'Orcia or Valdorcia is a region of Tuscany, central Italy, which extends from the hills south of Siena to Monte Amiata. Its gentle, cultivated hills are occasionally broken by gullies and by picturesque towns and villages.
In 2004 the Val d'Orcia was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites
